STX EUROPE

STX Europe Tulcea is the former Aker Yards Tulcea, a shipyard with main business in offshore and specialized vessel market. It employs approximately 5000 workers (3000 own and 2000 subcontractors) and delivers about 40000 t of processed steel per year. The yard was established in 1979. They buy approx 60000 t of steel per year, mainly plates (80%) and profiles (20%). Most of the materials originate in the European market.
