Tianda began as a seamless steel pipe trader in 1993 and acted as a sourcing agent for shipbuilding & petrochemical companies. Since 1993, the company started moving into pipe manufacturing business, producing pipes for use in petrochemical plants, vessels and boilers. The company completed a major expansion and its production capacity was boosted to 200kt in 2005 and 300kt in 2006. Operating margin improved as self-produced seamless pipes are more profitable.
